# Adding Users through Aggregation

> Aggregation is the most effective method to add users. This provides you insight into their financial data in a matter of minutes. You can then make informed decisions quicker.

### Adding a user through aggregation

1. Render the **iframe.** You can view how to do this in the article [Adding a New User - Portal](/users/adding-users-through-aggregation.md)
2. The user fills out the **required information**
3. Click on **Agree** after reading the consent section
4. Select your **banking institution**

6. Enter your **banking credentials**. By completing this step, you allow Zūm Rails to connect to your selected bank account and retrieve your financial data.
7. User goes through MFA (multifactor authentication)

* Users must select if they want to connect a **savings** or **chequing** account and click **Continue**
* The user is redirected. The collection of their banking information occurs in the background and can take up to 3 minutes.

### Retrieving and verifying user information

Once a user has successfully connected through aggregation, you can proceed with any of the following.

* Retrieve the financial data through webhooks, API, or manually through your portal
* Have an overview of all the connections from your portal

### Failing to connect through aggregation

If a user fails to connect through aggregation, complete the following steps.

* Request that the user repeat the same steps and attempt to connect again
* Review the API response
