# How can I submit documents for underwriting?

> You can submit underwriting documents directly in your Portal or through the API.

**Through the portal**:

First, log in and follow these steps:

1. Select **Settings** from the menu on the left side of the page
2. Click on the **Underwriting** tab
3. Select the type of document you would like to upload using the drop-down menu **Underwriting Type**
4. Attach a file, then click on **Upload**
