# Transaction Frequencies

> Transaction frequencies allow you to setup how often you would like a specific transaction to occur. Zūm Rails offers 3 types of transaction frequencies:

### Single

A one-time transaction is when you create a transaction in your portal to occur only once. It will trigger once you click save, and the entirety of the transaction will happen in real time.

### Recurrent

A recurrent transaction is set by start date and end date, or by a number of transactions. There is a fixed number of times that it can occur, and then it automatically stops.

There are limitations when selecting a recurrent transaction date to ensure there are no failures due to the uneven days in the months.

### Scheduled

A scheduled transaction is a one-time transaction that is set to occur at a later date. Once the transaction has occurred and the date has passed, it will not happen again.
